(Exira) Exira-EHK hits the road this week to face Audubon. We’ll have the game on KSOM with live video at HERE.
Exira-EHK’s game plan on defense centers around slowing down Audubon leading rusher Aaron Olsen. The sophomore QB has 415 yards on the ground this season. “He’s just so elusive. He’s just extremely fast as well. We have to try to do our best to make sure we are containing him as much as we can. I know we aren’t going to stop him all of the time, but we have to make sure we have multiple guys flying to the football.”
Spartan coach Tom Petersen points out Gavin Larsen and Cooper Nielsen are proven veterans that serve as anchors of the offensive line.
Exira-EHK is coming off of a 41-8 homecoming win over Woodbine. “I thought our defense played extremely well. I thought we were flying to the football. We were getting there fast with multiple guys. I just want to see us break down a little bit better. We are going to have to do that same thing this week. Our kids are going to have to play fast and most importantly physical.”
Exira-EHK has been balanced between the run and the pass this year with an average of 44.6 points and 376 yards per game. Audubon is 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the district. Exira-EHK has a 2-1 overall record and 1-1 league slate.
