(Des Moines, IA) — An Iowa judge has sided with the Sierra Club by ruling the reluctant landowner list for a proposed carbon pipeline through the state should be released.
The suit was filed after the Iowa Utilities Board said the names would remain secret at the developer’s request. Summit Carbon Solutions is still working to secure agreements with landowners for about 60 percent of the proposed pipeline in Iowa.
If it is granted eminent domain authority for the project the list would be used to determine which properties would be seized without negotiations between the company and the owners.
