Celebration of Life for 58 year old Troy Cavin of Chariton, formerly of Lewis, will be Saturday, August 20th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lewis Community Building. The Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Troy Douglas Cavin, age 58, was born July 25, 1963 to Doug Cavin and Chery Woolsey, in Atlantic, Iowa. He grew up in Lewis, Iowa and graduated from Griswold High School in 1982. In Troy’s younger years he learned the trade of a carpentry and a cabinet maker from his grandfathers and father. He continued his work journey as a carpenter, culvert construction, Clevite Bearing Factory and more carpentry work until moving to Chariton, Iowa in 2010. After to moving to Chariton, He started working for Narber construction. Until Troy went to work for Wayne Community School District as a custodian which he really enjoyed working with the kids. He passed away in his home on July 21, 2022 in Chariton.
Troy had a heart of gold which in turn made him many, many friends and very few enemies. He enjoyed his racing and of course his football team the Rams to whatever city they played for. In his younger years, Troy enjoyed hunting deer which won him a place in Iowa Conservation Magazine.
He is preceded in death by his father, Doug Cavin, uncles, Jack Woolsey, Stuart Cavin, Phil Cavin and his grandparents.
Troy is survived by his mother, Chery Woolsey of Chariton, his sister, Tracy Cavin of Chariton, his nephews, Kamron Meier of Dallas, TX, Jesse Meier of LaMars, his niece, MaKayla (Cody) Keyes of Albia, his uncle, Steve Cavin of Aberdeen, WA and many cousins and friends.
