(Des Moines, IA) — Charges have been filed against two men accused of robbing a 71-year-old woman who won 10-thousand dollars at Prairie Meadows Casino. Thirty-year-old Timothy Jacob Spencer and 29-year-old Jared Ferdinand Shoning were taken into custody by Des Moines police. Investigators say the men watched the woman after she won her price, following her in her vehicle, then forcing her out when she stopped. Spencer was allegedly displaying a firearm while he took her purse. The victim’s name hasn’t been released. Police say they have found text messages between the two men discussing the plan to rob someone last Tuesday – the day the robbery was carried out.
