(Des Moines, IA) — A woman charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident in April is now pleading guilty. Terra Flipping initially pleaded not guilty to driving away after she fatally struck 14-year-old Ema Cardenas while walking home from East High School in Des Moines. The defendant’s father has claimed she DID stop after striking Cardenas but that she left after bystanders began acting aggressively towards her. Sentencing will take place later.
