(Williamsburg) Atlantic is at Williamsburg tonight, playing for a trip to the Class 3A State
Softball Tournament. The Trojans (23-14) defeated Shenandoah on Wednesday, 6-4, and Clarinda, 11-2, on Saturday.
Williamsburg won handily in the first two games with shutout wins over Clarke and Chariton, 10-0 in each contest. The Raiders are (31-10) on the season.
Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann says fans should plan an early arrival to the stadium.
Hinzmann says Williamsburg is more experienced than the Trojans, with a few younger players mixed into the lineup.
The Raiders won the contest 11-0.
Williamsburg’s team batting average is .345, with 33-home runs on the season, led by Rylee Vercande batting .459 with 11 home runs and 41 runs batted in; Shannon Finn is hitting .449, and Ella Ridgeway is batting .387 with 52 RBI. Peyton Driscoll in the circle is 16-4, with a 2.10 ERA.
The Trojans are batting .289, led by Jada Jensen, hitting .445, with five home runs and 41 RBI. Malena Woodward is hitting .381, and Ava Rush is batting .327.
