(Omaha) Corn and soybean conditions declined again this week, according to the USDA’s weekly crop progress report released on Tuesday, July 5.
The nation’s corn crop condition rating declined three percentage points to 64 percent good-to-excellent from the previous week. Seven percent of the corn crop is silking compared to the five-year average of 11 percent.
Iowa’s corn crop is 77 percent good-to-excellent, Minnesota, 66 percent, Illinois, 65 percent, Missouri, 65 percent, Nebraska, 62 percent, Ohio, 49 percent, and Indiana, 48 percent good-to-excellent.
The nation’s soybean crop rated 63 percent good to excellent, compared to 65 percent the previous week.
Iowa’s soybean crop is rated 77 percent good to excellent, Minnesota, 68 percent, Illinois, 62 percent, Nebraska, 61 percent, Missouri, 56 percent, Indiana, 50 percent, and Ohio, 48 percent good to excellent.
