(Des Moines) The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 8 cents, averaging $4.62 across Iowa according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $10.44 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $112.95. Brent crude oil rose $11.33 and is currently priced at $119.41. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $72.98 and Brent crude was at $75.38.
As of Wednesday, June 29, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $4.62 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 8 cents from last week’s price and $1.68 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $4.87, down 9 cents from last week’s price. Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down 2 cents this week with a statewide average of $5.42. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.10 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 36 cents less than the national average of $5.78.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $3.78 for U87-E10, $4.36 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $4.33 for ULSD#2, $4.54 for ULSD#1, and $3.24 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Natural gas prices fell 27 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $6.50/MMbtu. Continuing throughout the summer months, we will only report retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa once a month.
