(Cedar Rapids, IA) — The July 16th activation of the 9-8-8 crisis line has call center managers worried. Foundation Two Crisis Services CEO Emily Blomme tells KCRG/TV she is worried about being able to meet the anticipated demand. It’s estimated 71-thousand Iowans will call, chat, or text 9-8-8 during the first 12 months of the new service. It is aimed at helping people experiencing a mental health crisis. Blomme says her biggest concern is having enough staff to handle the calls.
