(Des Moines) Iowa House District 21 Representative Tom Moore said last Monday the Senate passed a bill eliminating the Praxis Exam after sitting on it as a negotiating factor since the House passed it back in February.
Moore said, “This bill eliminates the program ending exam which all teacher practitioner prep students had to pass before gaining licensure. The exam acted as a barrier for certain students and this was no indicator of a students ability to become a successful teacher. This has been a major point of emphasis for me during my 7 years in the legislature.”
Moore said to see this bill go to the Governor for her signature is extremely exciting for him, as well as it is for hundreds of teacher prep students.
