(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Department is still searching for lifeguards for the Sunnyside Pool.
Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen told the Park Board Monday night that they had two individuals that are currently certified that have applied; they had one that signed up to do the class in Atlantic that didn’t show up; and there are three that didn’t sign up for the class so they are trying to get them in another lifeguard class.
Rasmussen noted that anyone can be a lifeguard.
Meanwhile, Rasmussen said this past week ACCO came in got everything sealed up and ready to go. He said it will need to sit for a few days, so they can’t fill the pool just yet. He said they are looking at next Friday to start filling the pool, but the major issues they had for leaks last year have been taken care of.
In other news, Rasmussen said construction has started on Bull Creek. He said currently crews are taking out the tree stumps and shaping the banks. Rasmussen said it already looks exponentially better than it did before.
