(Atlantic) SHIFT ATL released more information on Monday for its annual 2022 fundraiser. Last summer, the non-profit organization’s first event served 372 people in downtown Atlantic. President Jessie Shiels says guests can expect the same great experience as last year’s steak dinner, three hours of dueling piano entertainment by Pianopalooza, a full bar, and a photobooth. This year’s event will be held on July 16, 2022, on 4th Street between Chestnut Street and Walnut Street.
The funds raised from this event will help SHIFT ATL complete its renovations at The Telegraph building. Construction started this spring on the exterior of the building, including tuckpointing and skim coating. A new stone and an updated awning will be installed on the face. Following those projects, a community patio will be built in the courtyard space, and then two murals will be installed-one on the west side of the building and one on the east side with the patio.
Interested person can purchase a table for $400.00, which includes eight dinner tickets and eight tickets to the dueling pianos, or $60.00 per person, including dinner and tickets to dueling pianos, or $15.00 per person or $20.00 per person for the night at the door—gates for the dueling pianos at 7:30 p.m.
SHIFT ATL recently completed the interior rehabilitation of The Telegraph building, located at 14 e 4th Street in Atlantic. They manage a full operating AirBnB on the upper story. They are currently using the main level as a commercial space for pop-up shops and local events or a flexible community space. At the same time, they work to find a permanent commercial tenant.
