(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday received an update on the Griswold Childcare Facility project.
Matt Leighton, Noble Initiative Board Member, said they are about halfway through their fundraising goal, at a total project cost of 2.3 million dollars.
The facility will be in city limits, but the location is currently undeveloped farm ground.
Daycare facilities are in the works in Griswold and Massena and the YMCA in Atlantic recently renovated one of the racquetball courts into a childcare space. The Supervisors asked for updates from each of the entities because they want to provide them with American Rescue Plan Act funding. Griswold is requesting $150,000 in ARPA funding. The Supervisors tabled action on ARPA funding for the childcare facilities until their meeting on the 29th.
