(Griswold) Griswold Republican Iowa House District #21 Representative Tom Moore says a bill establishes a fee of $500 for a new 90,000-pound all-systems permit. Moore says the all systems permit has been in effect for a couple of years and was established as a voluntary program.
“This bill requires all counties to participate in the all systems permit,” said Moore. “Therefore making this $500.00 annual one-time fee statewide and eliminates each county imposing their own fee.”
Moore says 75% of the fee will be deposited in the county bridge construction fund, and 25% will go to the Road Use Tax Fund (RUTF). The bill passed by a vote of 85-7.
