(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for extreme fire conditions in Western Iowa from noon today to 9:00 p.m. this evening. Forecasters say high winds of 25-to-35 miles per hour gusting to 55-miles per hour could cause fires that ignite to spread rapidly and exhibit extreme fire behavior. The National Weather Service advises the public to use extreme caution if engaging in any activities that would start a fire. Outdoor burning is not advisable.
A Wind Advisory for the region is from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. this evening.
