(Iowa City) #24 Iowa defeated #9 Purdue on Sunday to win the Big Ten Tournament Championship. The Hawkeyes broke a 51-all tie with a back-to-back 3-pointers from Payton Sandfort and held off the Boilermakers 75-66.
Keegan Murray had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Tony Perkins registered 11 points. Sandfort was 4/4 from the field and scored 10.
Iowa takes a 26-9 record into the NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes are the #5 seed in the Midwest Region and will play 23-12 Richmond on Thursday at 2:10 p.m. in Buffalo, NY.
