(Chicago, IL) Iowa overcame a slow start to beat Rutgers 84-74 in the big Ten Tourney. The Hawkeyes used a 9-0 run midway through the first half to gain the advantage and led by double figures most of the second half.
Keegan Murray posted 26 points and 8 rebounds. Murray has 750 points this season, which passes Luka Garza for most in a single season in Iowa history. Tony Perkins and Jordan Bohannon each added 16 points. Iowa connected on 25/27 (92.%) from the free-throw line and their bench outscored Rutgers bench 18-0.
The 23-9 Hawkeyes will oppose #9 seed Indiana at 1:00 Saturday in the semifinals. The Hoosiers upset #1 seed Illinois 74-69 on Friday.
