(Atlantic) Forty-three runners reported to the Atlantic Boy’s track team this spring. The Trojans start the competition on Friday at the Iowa Track Coaches Association Indoor meet in Ames.
Atlantic Head Coach Abby Becker’s roster consists of three seniors, 14 juniors, 11 sophomores, and 15 freshmen. Senior state qualifier and sprinter Gannon O’Hara returns to the line-up and the state-qualifying 4×800 meter relay team.
Becker says the other prospects include; Jackson McLaren, Carter Pellett, Drew Engler, Zane Berg, Cohen Bruce, and eight others expected to contribute. Isaac Henson, Korbin Johnson, Alex Pross, Braden Spurr, Ethan Steffens, and Logan Tarrell.
Becker is looking forward to scoring some points in the field events, something she said they lacked one year ago.
Atlantic starts the season at the Indoor meet in Ames on Friday. On March 19, travel to Maryville, Missouri, for an Indoor Meet at Northwest Missouri State University, and open the outdoor season at Denison on March 31.
