(Cass Co.) Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken told the Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning that the DOT has two bridge overlay projects that will be going on in Cass County.
Wolken said a bridge project on Highway 6 by Lewis across Indian Creek and a bridge project on Highway 83 over the Nishnabotna River west of Atlantic will both start this month. Scott Suhr with the DOT says the start dates and more information on these projects will be released soon by the Creston Construction Office.
The detour for the Highway 6 bridge will take Highway 6, Highway 48, Highway 92, and Highway 71. The detour for the Highway 83 bridge will take Glacier Road to Echo Road to Olive Street.
Trent Wolken would like travelers to know that if they attempt to take the roads through Highland addition, there is a three-ton weight limit on the 6th Street bridge.
In other news, Wolken said bridge #280 on 700th Street is finished and open to traffic now.
