(NAFB) Supply chain issues appear to be everywhere in agriculture, and that also holds true in the seafood business. Will there be enough fish to go around during Lent? Dixon says seafood processors had similar supply limiting covid issues that beef and pork plants also experienced.
Dixon says there’s a different supply issue each week, although one of the ongoing issues will be the availability of certain scallops because of mandated conservation efforts.
Dixon says supply issues have led to sharply higher cuts for popular items such as catfish and salmon. He says customers may need to consider other seafood options for the next few Fridays…tape
Dixon’s delivers seafood to St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Fort Wayne. High diesel prices have force his company to add fuel surcharges to their deliveries.
