(Avoca) Underwood earned the team championship in the Class 1A Sectional Wrestling Tournament hosted by AHSTW on Saturday. The hometown Vikings were the runner-up.
Underwood scored 259 points. The Eagles advance nine individuals, all as sectional champions.
AHSTW got championship from Denver Pauley at 170. He’s one of eight District qualifier for the program. Also keeping their season alive were Braden Fineran (120), Eli Collins (126), Hayden Fischer (138), Kadyen Baxter (145), Garrison Gettler (160), Nate Jorgensen (195), and Henry Lund (220).
Audubon’s Cooper Nielsen notched a pair of first period falls to win the 220 pound weight class.
