(Greenfield) Lindsey Davis scored 12 of her game high 22 points in the 3rd quarter as Nodaway Valley distanced themselves from East Union on Thursday. The Wolverines never trailed in the 71-27 win.
The home squad jumped out to a 18-4 advantage over the first six minutes, but East Union settled in and hung within 12 late in the first half. A 7-1 close to the 2nd quarter extended Nodaway Valley’s lead to 18 points at 33-15. They outscored East Union 16-4 in the third to blow the game open and finished with a 22-8 4th quarter advantage.
Jorja Holliday carried an otherwise cold Nodaway Valley offense in the 1st half with 13 of her 15 points coming before the break. Holliday told KSOM/KS95.7 Sports, “The girls were just a little bit shorter and I found the open spot for the ball and hoped for the best. It felt really great.” Maddax DeVault added nine while Whitney Lamb and Annika Nelson each scored 8. Nodaway Valley improves to 10-3 heading into a big matchup with Class 2A #4 Panorama on Saturday.
Kaylin Lack scored 12 of East Union’s 15 first half points and finished with 17 on the evening. The Eagles move to 4-8 on the year.
