(Audubon) Audubon County Economic Development Administrator Laurie Gilbert and the Board of Directors met with the County Supervisors on Tuesday morning to discuss the revenue from the Valley Business Park farmland sale.
The Valley Business Park consisted of 156 acres located on Highway 71 in Audubon and Cass Counties. The land sold for $16,000 per acre, netting each county around $1.2 million less commission and legal fees. Gilbert says ACED’s plan consists of four categories.
Gilbert asks individuals to submit the projects to ACED; they will gather all the information and present it to the Audubon County Board of Supervisors.
Both Audubon and Cass Counties agreed to sell the farmland and plan to address many economic development opportunities the funds from this project will help facilitate.
