(Underwood) Atlantic/CAM Wrestlers open up the season at Underwood tonight. The meet is a quadrangular featuring Glenwood, Riverside, Atlantic/CAM, and Underwood.
Head Coach Tim Duff says the squad had two good weeks of preseason practice.
Coach Duff says the opening meeting will be a tough one to start the season.
The quad features 15 preseason-rated wrestlers. The 2A ranked wrestlers competing at Underwood tonight are Vincent Mayberry of Glenwood, #7 at 113, and Matthew Beem #6 at 120, behind #3 rated and state medal winner Ethan Follman of Atlantic/CAM. Tate Mayberry of Glenwood is ranked 11th at 152, Kadin Stutzman of Atlantic/CAM holds a number two ranking at 170, Tyler Boldra of Glenwood is rated 9th at the same weight class. Mitchell Mayberry of Glenwood is ranked 6th at 182, and C.J. Carter, Glenwood is rated 4th at 195.
Underwood features five ranked wrestlers. Weston Allen, #6 at 126, Gable Porter, #1 at 132, Stevie Barnes, #2 at 138, Hagen Heistand, #1 at 145, and Easton Eledge, #6 at 285.
Jace Rose of Riverside is rated #4 at 120, and Nolan Moore, of Riverside, is ranked #9 at 152.
The meet starts at 5:30 p.m. at Underwood.
