(Carlisle) After a boy’s high school basketball game at Carlisle, a Des Moines teen faces charges following an alleged assault.
Authorities booked 17-Carter Prenosil of Des Moines into the Warren County Jail on Willful Injury-Causing Serious Injury charges.
According to the Carlisle Police Department, the incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Carlisle Police Department Resource Officer observed an assault following a Varsity boys’ basketball game between Carlisle Community School District and the Nevada Community School District. The investigation determined Prenosil, without provocation, struck a Nevada player while the players lined up to shake hands following the contest. The victim suffered a loss of consciousness and received medical attention for injuries to his mouth.
The Carlisle Police Department would like to thank the Carlisle Community School District for its cooperation with this investigation and the Warren County Attorney’s Office for its assistance in the case.
The Carlisle Police Department says with all cases, a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
