(Omaha) Ryan Hawkins posted 16 points and 11 rebounds in his debut for the Creighton Bluejays. The Atlantic native was in the starting lineup and made 7/15 shots including going 6/8 on two-point attempts. He added three assists, one block, and one steal.
Creighton picked up the 90-77 win at home on Tuesday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Bluejays used a 17-2 run early in the 2nd half to turn the game in their favor. Duke transfer Alex O’Connell scored 17 of his 20 points in the 2nd half to lead the team back from a nine point deficit at the break.
1-0 Creighton will host Kennesaw State on Thursday.
