(Anita) CAM Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan reported to the board on Monday; certified enrollment is down 27.0 students. Croghan says fewer students means less revenue in the general fund.
“This drop in enrollment is disappointing, and we need to find out where the students went or why the numbers dropped the way they did, “said Croghan. “The lower enrollment figure will impact the district moving forward, and we are currently working on projections, but we know things will have to change financially.”
During his report, Mr. Croghan welcomed Todd McKee and Cara Murphy to the school board. They will take their seats in December. In addition to that, Croghan also commended outgoing board members Gary Dinkla and Nick Kaufman. “Gary Dinkla and Nick Kaufman spent a considerable amount of time serving the district as board members for over a decade apiece. I want to thank them for their years of service and commitment to serving the students, the staff, the district, and communities of the CAM School District.”
The school board approved the corrective action plan to the SBRC for late filing of the Special Education Supplement Report, approved the contract with AEA for e-rates services. The board approved a lane change salary schedule for the 2021-2022 school year, accepted the retaining wall blocks bid, and approved transportation for the state field trip to the Omaha Symphony.
