ACGC XC gets full boys and girls teams to state while Audubon, AHSTW, and Nodaway Valley send one individual apiece

(Panora) In Class 1A there were eight state qualifying meet sites on Thursday which means two teams and ten individuals from each location move on to the state meet.

Boys teams advancing from Panorama are ACGC and Ogden. The girls team qualifiers are Logan-Magnolia and ACGC.

The #1 ranked ACGC boys placed three individuals in the top ten and scored 43 points. The Chargers had Trevin Suhr win the race in 16:44. Placing 8th was Andrew Mahaffey with Justin Reinhart 9th. Rounding out the lineup were Lance Bunde in 12th, Kaden Thompson 13th, Bo Arrasmith 14th, and Noah Kading 15th.

Ogden’s boys scored 65 points to grab the 2nd team spot. They were led by a 5th place run from Jordan King while three others were in the top 20.

Nodaway Valley got an individual qualification from Doug Berg. The junior clocked a 17:19 to place 3rd. Berg heads to state for a 3rd time in his career. He was 18th in Fort Dodge last year.

The top rated Logan-Magnolia girls scored 39 points for the win. Courtney Sporrer and Madison Sporrer were 1-2 for the Panthers while Mya Moss, Haedyn Hall, and Greylan Hornbeck were in the top 15.

ACGC scored 75 to finish as the girls runner-up. Freshman Ava Campbell paced the group in 4th place. Hayden Coffman ran 8th and Adalyn Benson was 9th. The Chargers also had Paige Van Meter’s 28th place run and Jayla Hoover’s 39th place finish count towards their team score.

Individual girls qualifiers from the immediate coverage area included Audubon’s Stefi Beisswenger who was 5th and AHSTW’s Rylie Knop who ran 10th.

The state meet is next Saturday, October 30th in Fort Dodge.
