(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors rejected bids for the W20 Jackson Box Culvert at their meeting Wednesday morning.
Engineer Nick Kauffman told the Supervisors that they had a bid letting on Tuesday and they received two bids. The bids came in 23.7 percent over their estimate, so he recommended rejecting all bids. Kauffman said they can make some changes and do a letting this winter for spring construction.
Kauffman also discussed the repair of the N35 Summit Bridge. He said he got a quote from Govco, Inc., John Govig out of Red Oak, in the amount of $92,875 and they also have some materials on hand for the project.
Kauffman said Govig said he could start the project in about two months. The Supervisors approved the quote from Govco, Inc.
In other news, the Supervisors gave County Treasurer Brenda Wallace approval to start the hiring process following the resignation of an employee.
The Board also held a discussion with Sheriff Jeff Vandewater regarding FY23 wages.
