(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board on Wednesday discussed the strategic plan they’ve been working on over the past several years. The board listed goals of academic excellence, team culture in district operations, and district objectives.
Atlantic School’s Superintendent Steve Barber says the board discussed some key activities and measures of success moving forward. The district is going to concentrate on a few areas to achieve academic excellence.
Barber says the district is also developing a comprehensive summer school program.
The school district is also experiencing a growth in the study enrollment, particularly students coming in from out-of-state. Barber says at last count 31-out-of-state students are enrolled in the Atlantic School system this school year. Barber says the students fit into the system. Barber says the school year is going well given the fire at the Middle School and the re-location of students. Barber says they feel good about where they’re at and looking forward to “a great year.”
