(Atlantic) Cars of all makes and models lined the streets downtown for the AtlanticFest Kelly Schlake Memorial car show. Event Co-chairman Rob Clausen says 225 cars turnout for the show.
The cars are split into categories by year, the older cars are grouped into ten years per class, and muscle cars are split by three years.
Kelly Schlake passed away this past December. Kelly was the owner of Atlantic Motor Supply, and as Clausen stated, a tremendous supporter of the community.
Clausen says the cars are judged by overall appearance, discounted for flaws, which are hard to find, exterior, interior, undercarriage, under the hood, trunk, and overall detail. Clausen says the cars come from Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, and all parts of Iowa.
Clausen says one showman drove his Model T to the show and rolled over 470,000 miles coming to Atlantic.
