(Atlantic) Retail Coach Program Director Austin Farmer will appear at the Atlantic City Council meeting this evening to discuss the City of Atlantic as a potential Retail Coach client.
The company reaches out to prospective business prospects with work in Fort Dodge, Pella, and Carroll. City officials in Carroll stated they have three new retail prospects since signing on with Retail Coach.
The cost to the City would be $40,000. The Atlantic Chamber and CADCO are willing to split the travel and reimbursement part of the contract, which is $2,500 each if the City funds the $35,000 contract. The money would come out of the Local Option Sales Tax Fund.
The presenter, Austin Farmer, is a Texas A&M college graduate with a degree in Marketing concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership and was a member of the distinguished Mays Fellow Program.
The agenda also includes the recognition of Hannah Richter for her service over the summer at City Hall. In addition to that, the council will hear a monthly report from Kris Erickson on the Animal Shelter and Code Enforcement issues and a resolution adopting the job description for the Acting Deputy City Clerk and Temporary Administrative Assistant.
The Council will also amend the City Code concerning the accrual of paid time for permanent part-time positions.
The Council will also act on the appointment of Jeff Gude to the Community Promotion Commission and Dick Casady, Frazer Werts, Connie Boose, Dave Jones, and Christina Hartkoph to the Housing Committee.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers.
