(Harlan) Despite some recent rainfall, Harlan residents are still being ordered to conserve water.
Harlan Municipal Utilities CEO Ken Weber admits the moisture helps, but they have long ways to go. “We haven’t seen any impact yet from the recent rains. Every little bit helps, but we have to remember there are 30-40 feet of dry dirt above the aquifer that has to saturated before we see much impact to the aquifer.”
They remain in a Tier One Water Warning. Weber says they are able to maintain at roughly 85% and they’ve had good cooperation from their customers.
