(Audubon) After a couple of years of work, the wastewater project in the City of Audubon is nearly finished.
Change Order #5 and Pay Application #5 for Phase 2 of the wastewater project were approved by the Audubon City Council on Monday. City Clerk Joe Foran admits it is exciting to reach this point. “We can pretty much say that aside from a couple of clerical things here and there the wastewater treatment project is finished.”
It was a $5.1 million project funded by a $1.1 million dollar grant and $4 million in USDA low interest loans. “We were able to CIPP line a lot of the lines in town and televise a lot more. Bids came down considerable from what we thought so we were able to do much more than what we had planned.”
In other news, the City Council has passed the 3rd and final reading on Ordinance 755 to add a stop sign at Third and South. The stop sign will be put in place on Friday.
