(Des Moines) Two Western Iowa Conference boys teams battled until the final race to determine the state track champion in Class 2A. Underwood wins the championship by a 66-60 count over rival Treynor.
The Eagles won state titles in the 200 and 400 with Brayden Wollan as well as the 4X400 with Scott Pearson, Alex Ravlin, Bryce Patten, and Brayden Wollan. Wollan was a runner-up in the 100, Scott Pearson ran 2nd in the 800, the Distance Medley of Collin Brandt, Bryce Patten, Alex Ravlin, and Scott Pearson were 2nd, Chris Gardner placed 3rd in the Shot Put, and a group of Bryce Patten, Josh Ravlin, Alex Ravlin, and Scott Pearson earned 3rd in the 4X800.
Treynor’s 60 point total was a win the Shuttle Hurdle Relay with Noah James, Todd Pedersen, Kayden Dirks, and Sid Schaaf, Sid Schaaf and Noah James went 1-2 in the 400 Lows, Sid Schaaf was runner-up in the 110 Highs, the 4X400 placed 2nd with Todd Pedersen, Noah James, Devin Vorthmann, and Sid Schaaf, Noah James placed 3rd in High Jump, the Sprint Medley ran 4th with Evan Smith, Josh Clark, Jaxon Schumacher, and Todd Pedersen, and the 4X800 4th with Karson Elwood, Cole Dooley, Payton Chapman, and Todd Pedersen.
Panorama and Van Meter represented the West Central Activities Conference well in the Class 2A Girls Team Scoring with each placing in the top ten.
