(Des Moines) Home heating oil fell 9 cents from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.48 per gallon.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $1.19 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $60.92. Brent crude oil rose $1.20 and currently priced at $63.93. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $20.48 and Brent crude was at $14.85.
As of Wednesday, March 31, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.78 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices were down 2 cents from last week’s price and $1.01 higher than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $2.87, steady from last week’s price. Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.07. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.35 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 2 cents more than the national average of $3.09. Wholesale ethanol rose 9 cents and is currently priced at $1.89. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.93 for U87-E10, $2.15 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $1.94 for ULSD#2, $2.09 for ULSD#1, and $1.95 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Propane prices fell 2 cents with a statewide average of $1.53 per gallon. Home heating oil fell 9 cents from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.48 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 7 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.61/MMbtu.
