Shirley Irene Bishop, was born in Oakland, IA, December 20, 1944. She died at the Heritage House in Atlantic, IA, on March 7, 2021, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 18 days.
Shirley attended school in Oakland, graduating from Oakland High School with the class of 1965. She married Ron Dotson and two children were born to this union: LaShelle and Dwight. Shirley worked at several different places, including Walnut Grove, Griswold State Bank, and Hockenstead and Wilson. On February 6, 1980, she was united in marriage to Richard Bishop at the Griswold Central Church of Christ. They lived in Griswold unitl the time of her death.
Shirley loved being outdoors. She enjoyed boating, camping, gardening, swimming, taking motorcycle trips, and snowmobiling.
Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter Lachelle Lensch; mother Irene Kelley; her father Elbert Kelley; her step-mother Mabel Kelley; and her brother Elwyn Kelley.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Griswold; her son Dwight Dotson; her brother Leland Kelley; her sisters-in-law Vicki LaRock and Vickii Bishop; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
