(Atlantic) The second of three scheduled coffees will be held via Zoom Saturday, March 13, from 9 – 10:30 a.m., with the option to continue longer, should conversation and participation encourage extending the discussion. The final coffee of the 2021 legislative session will be from 9 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10.
Kim Spillars, for the Progressive Rural Iowa Development Rural Iowa Enterprise economic development organization, says there were nearly 40 people at the February 13 coffee. Spillars says this is our opportunity to ensure they are aware of all the many viewpoints an issue can have to consider when making decisions.
Spillars says if people have something that is impacting them somehow, either good or bad, hopefully, Representative Moore and Senator Shipley need to know about it, so they can help make life easier; that’s their job.

Spillars says to be efficient in this format, people with questions for Senator Shipley or Representative Moore are asked to submit them AHEAD by noon on Thursday, March 11.
If you didn’t ask a question ahead, participants may ask in the “chat” feature of Zoom during the coffee and are taken as time allows. The coffee will begin with a brief update by each legislator of the work in his chamber. If you plan to attend the March 13 coffee, please send questions and requests for the Zoom link to Kimberlee Spillers, kim@ghorizons.com, or 712-250-0275. Be sure to leave a message if you call.
