(Guthrie Co.) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors received an update from County Attorney Brenna Bird at their meeting Tuesday morning.
Bird said they currently have a lot of trials scheduled. She said some weeks they have multiple trials just to make sure that cases are getting resolved since most of them don’t end up going to trial. She said they definitely have a full jail right now.
Bird said their case numbers are unusually high; the total count for January was 68, February 75, and as of Tuesday morning they already had five cases for March.
Prior to Brenna Bird’s report, the Supervisors approved a motion to authorize the chair to sign a lease agreement for jury selection space prior to any upcoming jury trials.
