(Avoca) AHSTW plays Treynor in a Class 2A District Final Tuesday night. The game will air on KS95.7.
The 4th ranked Vikings are 20-2. The 7th rated Cardinals are 18-4. AHSTW’s GG Harris identifies rebounding as one main key for his team. “We have to rebound the basketball. They are an extremely good rebounding team and that’s both on offense and defense. They do a really good job of that.”
Harris also wants to see his team control the pace of the game and get out in transition. They enter the contest with some confidence. “I really like the team I have and the boys that I have. That’s nothing against Treynor and the team or the coaches they have. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity for the kids. They put a lot of time in. Let’s tip the ball and let the chips fall where they may.”
They split in the regular season with each team winning on the road. Tuesday they meet at Abraham Lincoln High School for the right to face either Van Meter or Panorama in the substate finals. “We put it out there right away for our goals and what we want to accomplish and what we want to work for. Now that we are here the message to the team is to let it all out and have some fun.”
