(Atlantic) Atlantic School’s Superintendent Steve Barber released the school district’s latest COVID-19 data from December 24 to January 21.
Barber says throughout the holiday break; they keep the district’s weekly COVID numbers. The district’s positive cases are down along with the number required to quarantine. He says the last few days, Cass County has seen lower positivity rates, and he hopes that continues as we continue to fight COVID in the community.

Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barbers says the district received great news last week that all individuals working with the children would be eligible for vaccinations in the Phase 1B rollout, which begins on February 1, 2021. Four health service providers were eligible in the 1A rollout phase in Atlantic schools. Some employees, volunteer firefighters, and paramedics had had the chance at being one of the first groups to get vaccinated. Barber says this will add to the district’s already effective mitigation efforts and get one step closer to the new normal.
“I hope that we continue to see small numbers affecting staff and students and that they all experience a fast recovery,” said Steve Barber.
