(Cass Co.) A Kansas man was injured in a semi rollover accident in Cass County this (Saturday) afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says John Stuart, 58, of Lenexa, Kansas, was driving a 2019 Kenworth T680 eastbound on I-80 near the 72 mile marker at approximately 2:35 p.m. Stuart reported being distracted and had taken his eyes off the road. The semi ran off the roadway to the right where it collided with cable barriers. The semi rolled on its side and came to rest in the south ditch.
Stuart was trapped in the semi and had to be extricated. He was transported by ground ambulance and then flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
