(Coralville) The girls state wrestling tourney is taking place this weekend in Coralville.
At 195, AHSTW’s Bella Canada won by fall in 1:41 over Isabelle Kipp, of South Winneshiek. She will face
Atlantic/CAM send Quincy Sorensen, Mia Trotter, and Carina Birkel to the tourney. Sorensen (113) lost by fall in each of her matches. Trotter (120) won by fall in round won, lost by fall in her 2nd match, won by fall in the consolation 2nd round, and lost by fall in the consolation 3rd round. Birkel (132) lost a 4-1 decision in round one and dropped an 8-2 decision in her 2nd match.
Nodaway Valley sent three wrestlers. Erin Rhoads at 126 lost by fall in both matches. Rose Lonsdale (138) won her first match 9-5 before being pined twice. Grace Britten (160) lost by fall in both of her contests.
Iliana Yanes, of Riverside, had a first round bye.
