(Guthrie Center) ACGC can match last season’s win total with a boys basketball victory Thursday night at CAM.
10 wins is the high water mark in ACGC’s five year history. Coach Lance Kading and the Chargers are 9-3. They have their sights set far beyond just 10 wins. “It’s a process. We get kind of upset with winning some games ugly, but those are the games that a year or two we’d lose. It’s nice to win them, but I think we have higher expectations for ourselves.” They’ve gone from 3-19 to 6-14 to 10-13 to 9-3 over the last four years.
Kading says his group will have to limit turnovers after committing 18 of them in a win against Ogden on Tuesday. “Just take care of the ball a little better and stay aggressive on offense. We played mostly man-to-man defense on Tuesday and I felt like we did a better job. We’ve been focusing on that in practice. If we stay aggressive, take care of the turnovers, and play defense like we did Tuesday night I think we’ll be better off in all of our games.”
Last year ACGC won this matchup by six points, two years ago CAM won by three. Don’t be surprised to see another competitive game. “It’s two communities that are geographically close. A lot of people know each other and do business with each other. It’s not a real intense rivalry because we aren’t in the same conference. It’s usually going to be a pretty good game.”
Eli Kading leads the offensive attack at 18.5 points per game. Miles Kading, Lucas Marsh, Ben Marsh, and Charlie Crawford are all averaging between 8 and 11 points per game. We’ll bring you the ACGC at CAM contest on the radio on 96.5 FM KSOM.
