(Atlantic) Gravel roads are drifted shut in many areas of Cass County following a blizzard that packed high winds and heavy snow at times.
Cass County Engineer Trent Wolken says the County Road Crews have been concentrating on the paved roadways today. Wolken says while they’re working on some of the highest drifts on the gravel roads this afternoon, the main goal is to have all of the gravel roads open on Saturday.
Cass County has around 750 miles of gravel roads. The County has four sheds with three to four plows per shed and eight motor graters.
