(Atlantic) Nishna Valley Family YMCA Fitness and Program Director Payton Wilkenfeld identify’s 2020 as a year that has brought everyone triumphs and hardships. She says 2021 is a time to reset, refresh, reconnect, replay, reinvest, and get restored.
Wilkenfeld says the Nishna Valley Family YMCA is offering a new challenge to get people active again. The program is called “Hit the Reset button in 2021.”When a new year comes around people typically set new year’s resolutions,” said Wilkenfeld. “So the “Y” has created this six-week free challenge to help those with resolutions get started and stay on track in mind, body, and spirit.”
Each week there is a new theme, and new challenges, and virtual content available on the reset challenge website that all participants can access. The virtual challenge can be exercised at home, on vacation, or at the YMCA.
“The program is designed for each participant to receive weekly encouraging messages, emails, and different challenges throughout the six-week program,” said Wilkenfeld.
Registration can be done online beginning on January 11. The link is on the nishnavalleyymca.com website. Individuals can also register at the YMCA. The first 500 participants will receive a fit kit.
“The fit kit includes a drawstring bag,” explained Wilkenfeld. “Inside the bag will be an ankle band, water bottle, and a magnet calendar to list goals and accomplishments for the week.”
The participants completing the challenge will receive a completion chart. The program is open to members and non-members. Non-community members participating will receive two-day passes each week in their fitness bag. If they decide to join, they will receive a $40.00 joiner’s fee waiver.
