(Griswold) The Library Journal has recognized the Elk Horn and Griswold Public Libraries as a “Five Star Library.” The two southwest Iowa facilities are just two of the three libraries to be honored in the State of Iowa.
Griswold Library Director Lisa Metheny attributes the honor to the great community support.
This is the second consecutive year the Elk Horn Public Library has received this honor. Library Director Alissa LaCanne credits an increase in programming and community support for the Five-Star ranking.
Library scores are based on physical circulation, circulation of electronics materials, library visits, program attendance, public internet computer use, Wi-Fi sessions, and e-retrievals. Libraries are also ranked by category, based on operating expenditures, and the top libraries in each category in each peer-group category are recognized as a Star Library.
