(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of unleaded gasoline as of Wednesday, December 30, averaged $2.20 across Iowa. Prices were steady from last week’s price and $.16 lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $2.25
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose $.02 this week, with a statewide average of $2.44. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.86 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is $.12 less than the national average of $2.56.
Wholesale ethanol rose $.09, currently at $1.42. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.37 for U87-E10, $1.50 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.60, ULSD#1 is at $1.72, and E-70 priced at $1.46 per gallon.
This week’s price of global crude oil rose on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.45 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $48.46. Brent crude oil rose $.24 and is currently priced at $51.35. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $61.68, and Brent crude was at $68.30.
Propane prices were steady, with a statewide average of $1.18 per gallon. Home heating oil was up $.01 from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.02 per gallon. Natural Gas prices fell $.26 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.44/MMBtu.
