(Area) The Iowa DNR is hosting virtual ice fishing courses January 12th and January 19th.
Bryan Hayes, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa DNR, said registration for these courses is underway.
Hayes said topics that will be covered include basic ice safety, cold weather fish behavior, choosing the right location and basic ice fishing gear.
Hayes said there needs to be four inches of good clear ice before you should venture out and we don’t have that yet.
