(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.20 across Iowa, up to $.10 from last week. This is $.15 per gallon lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $2.25, up to $.06 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose $.07 this week, with a statewide average of $2.42. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.84 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is $.12 less than the national average of $2.54. Wholesale ethanol rose $.02, currently at $1.33. The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.33 for U87-E10, $1.45 for Unleaded 87 (clear), ULSD#2 is at $1.59, ULSD#1 is at $1.72, and E-70 priced at $1.40 per gallon.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.72 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $48.01.Brent crude oil rose $.55 and is currently priced at $51.11. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $60.52, and Brent crude was at $67.49.
Propane prices rose $.06 with a statewide average of $1.18 per gallon. Home heating oil was down $.02 from last week, ending with a statewide average of $2.01 per gallon. Natural Gas prices rose $.05 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.70/MMBtu.
